Cantonese and Mandarin Conversation for Beginners to Advanced – Grades JK to 8
The program is intended to build a strong oral language foundation in Cantonese or Mandarin. This program promotes interactive, dynamic language use in a comfortable setting. It uses authentic language forms and focuses on ensuring that the message is communicated rather than on the structure of the language. Through interactions, students will learn a variety of basic conversational words, phrases, and short sentences. They will learn to write simple characters.
Students will need access to a device and the Internet for the remote learning program. A student cannot take the same language twice. A student can enrol in a second language without cost.
This Beginner to Advanced course is designed for students who are comfortable with simple conversations in Mandarin or Cantonese. This program is intended to build on the student’s basic foundation in the language and improve their comprehension and fluency in listening, speaking, reading and writing.
Cantonese and Mandarin series textbooks may be required for your class.
The cost of the textbook is $18.95.

Please register your child in their current grade level. Our skilled instructors, along with parental/ guardian input, will assess each student’s strengths and needs at the beginning of the program and group them accordingly.
