SHSM Co-operative Education

Grades: 11, 12

This program allows students the opportunity to earn credits and get practical work experience.

ONLY those students who are registered in an SHSM program or who have indicated interest in participating in an SHSM program in myBlueprint are eligible for Co-op.

Other eligible students include: students currently in IB, AP, Regional Arts, who otherwise would not be able to fit Co-op into their day school schedule.

SHSM Co-operative Education (2 credits)

This is a work experience program that allows you to earn credits and develop skills and experience in an area of your choice.

Every effort will be made to find an in-person or virtual placement. If a placement cannot be found then a virtual co-op program will be offered consisting of Careers, Entrepreneurship and Leadership based curriculum.

You must be available to take place in the the pre-placement program as listed below. Pre-placement focus is on Health & Safety and is mandatory.

All in-school components of the co-op program, including pre-placement and integration will take place as follows:

Placement

  • Days: Monday to Friday
  • Time: 8:30am-5:00pm
  • Hours may vary depending on placement

All program offerings are subject to student enrolment. Space is limited, so register early.

Additional synchronous and/or asynchronous learning may be scheduled as required.

All registrants will be contacted the first week of May by the YCDSB Secondary Continuing Education Department with onboarding instructions and will subsequently be contacted by their Summer School Co-op teacher.
