AKOMA Camp Experience – Grades 3 to 8

AKOMA: Where community and learning come together. Rooted in the African proverb, ‘it takes a village to raise a child,’ our summer program provides elementary students with the opportunity to strengthen literacy and numeracy skills, while preparing for future academic success. 

We offer an authentic experience for Black students and allies within the YCDSB, guided by Gospel Values and Catholic Virtues, where students explore their identity and potential. 

Through hands-on activities that foster critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration, and with the support of experienced teachers and tutors, AKOMA blends academic growth with a celebration of Black culture.
