Visit the

YCDSB Continuing Education website

and select the program you are interested in, or go directly to the

Continuing Education Registration Portal
.

Select the class you would like to attend and choose
REGISTER. You will then be prompted to sign in or
create an account, if required.
How do current YCDSB day school students sign in?
Current YCDSB day school students sign in using their
YCDSB school account.

Select your course and indicate that you are currently enrolled as a
YCDSB day school student. You will be redirected to the YCDSB sign-in page.
Important:
Your OEN is not your Continuing Education login password.
How do external students or students from another school board sign in?
Select your course, then sign in to your existing
YCDSB Continuing Education account
or create a new account when prompted.

When creating an account, enter the student’s
legal name and personal information accurately.
Returning external students must enter their information
exactly as it was entered when the account was created,
including the same spelling of their name.
What is an Ontario Education Number (OEN), and where can I find it?
The Ontario Education Number (OEN) is a unique 9-digit number assigned
to Ontario students.

It can normally be found on an Ontario report card,
Credit Counselling Summary or transcript.
The OEN may be required as part of a registration or student record,
but current YCDSB students do not use it as their login password.
Do external students need to provide supporting documentation?

Supporting documentation may be required depending on the program and registration.

Secondary students:
A current Credit Counselling Summary, Report Card or Transcript may be
required to confirm course prerequisites.

Elementary students:
Supporting documentation may be required for identity verification.
If documentation is required, Continuing Education will send a
secure submission form from
coned@ycdsb.ca.
Please do not email personal or supporting documents.
What does “Pending Approval” mean?
Pending Approval means your registration has been received
but still requires review.

This may include confirming eligibility, prerequisites or supporting
documentation. Please monitor the email address associated with your
registration for further instructions.

Programs, Eligibility & Fees
Do I have to be a YCDSB student to register?
No. Many YCDSB Continuing Education programs accept students from
other Ontario school boards.

Eligibility, priority and fees may vary by program.
Please review the individual program page before registering.
Do I have to be Catholic to attend a Continuing Education program?
No. Eligible students may participate in YCDSB Continuing Education
programs regardless of faith.
Is there a fee to register?

Fees vary depending on the program, course and student eligibility.

Any applicable fee will be identified on the current
program or registration page.
What happens if a class is full or cancelled?
If a class is full and a waiting list is available, the registration
system may display a WAIT LIST option.
Joining a waiting list does not guarantee placement.

Course offerings are subject to sufficient enrolment, staffing and
program requirements. If a class is cancelled or changed,
Continuing Education will make every effort to notify affected students.
Is transportation provided?
Transportation is generally not provided for Continuing Education programs
unless specifically stated on the individual program page.

Secondary Courses & eLearning
Who can register for a secondary credit course?

Eligibility depends on the individual program and course.

Review the applicable program page for current grade requirements,
prerequisites, delivery method and registration information.
How are prerequisites verified for external secondary students?
External secondary students may be asked to provide a current
Credit Counselling Summary, Report Card or Transcript
to confirm course prerequisites.

If documentation is required, Continuing Education will provide
instructions for secure submission.
How do I register for an eLearning course?
Available eLearning courses are registered through the

Continuing Education Registration Portal
.

Select the available course you are interested in and follow the
registration instructions.
Are eLearning courses completely asynchronous?

Delivery may vary by course and program.

Online learning may include asynchronous work, scheduled synchronous
instruction, online meetings or a combination. Please review the
individual program information and teacher instructions.
Will my secondary or eLearning course have a final exam?

Final evaluation requirements vary by course and program.

Students will receive current assessment and examination information
through their program and teacher.
What if I have an IEP or require accommodations?
Students requiring accommodations should follow the instructions
provided by their program and teacher so that appropriate supports can be reviewed.

Please do not email sensitive student documentation unless specifically
directed to use an approved secure process.

Attendance, Marks & Withdrawals
What are the attendance expectations?

Regular and punctual attendance is expected in Continuing Education programs.

Because many programs operate on compressed schedules, absences and
late arrivals can significantly affect student progress.
Program-specific attendance requirements will be communicated by the
program or teacher.
How do I withdraw from a course?

Withdrawal procedures and deadlines vary by program.

Notify your teacher or Continuing Education as soon as possible if you
intend to withdraw. Secondary students should pay particular attention
to any full disclosure or reporting deadlines.
When will I receive my report card or final mark?

Report card and final-mark timelines vary by program and semester.

Please refer to current program communications for report card dates
and delivery information.
