The Splice Project – Grades 6 & 7

  • This Online program focuses on the potential intersection between science, technology, religion, engineering, the arts and mathematics (STREAM).
  • Students will utilize design thinking to plan and execute a passion project from beginning to end (project proposal, gathering of feedback, revisions and edits, project execution, documenting the creative process and presenting the learning journey).  
  • Students will have opportunities to build and refine skills in the areas of creative ideation, organization, collaboration and problem-solving.
  • Students will reflect on their learning processes and present their ideas via oral/media presentations.
  • Students will share feedback within a community of learners.
  • Students will have the opportunity to make connections between their own talents, interests, and future pathways. 
  • Students are responsible for obtaining all materials for their self-selected passion projects.
  • All other course materials will be provided prior to the commencement of the course.
  • Students will need to feel confident and be able to navigate the virtual learning platform independently for this program.
  • Students will need a device with internet access.
  • Classes will be limited to 15 – 20 students.
